About Us

Once upon a time, there was a family who discovered the healing properties of nature's golden syrup, honey. It all started when Asia, the mother of the family, was expecting a child and struggling with bad allergies. She turned to natural remedies and tried honey, which proved to provide relief. Thus began their love and appreciation for this pure, all-natural sweetener.

Justin, the father, brought home a jar of honey from his co-worker Dmitry, who recommended it to help with Asia's allergies. After experiencing its benefits, their entire family started using honey as a replacement for sugar in recipes and even as a creamer. Little did they know, this newfound interest would turn into a passion that would eventually lead to a unique family business.

Justin worked with Dimitry to construct their first hive, and once it was complete, Asia's entrepreneurial drive and their family's love for honey led them to choose the perfect name for their new venture - Ajay's Honey. Together, they make it a family affair, with Justin and Ajay taking care of the beehives and harvesting while Asia and Ajay lovingly package and distribute the honey to their customers.

At only four years old, Ajay became the face of the business and the first black-owned beekeeper in the Pacific Northwest. The family's dedication to natural farming and honey production makes Ajay's Honey a unique and socially responsible business that helps fund Ajay's future endeavors.

Their bee farm is located in their own backyard in North Tacoma, where they locally grow and raise their bees near the Narrows Bridge in the beautiful Puget Sound. Ajay's Honey truly is a farm-to-table product, and their commitment to providing their customers with the purest and most natural honey possible is evident in every jar.

Not only is their honey delicious and nutritious, but learning about bees and their role in nature has also been a fun and educational experience for their family. They discovered that bees never sleep, and every member plays a vital role in the hive's survival. The female worker bees make the honey, and the queen bee ensures the colony thrives. Bees dance to communicate with each other, informing the hive where to find the best nectar, pollen, water, and nest. Their wings stroke an incredible 11,400 times per minute!

Thanks to Ajay's Honey and their amazing bees, this family has found a lifelong passion and an extraordinary way to share the beauty of nature and the benefits of pure honey with their community.

What Makes Our Honey Different?

Our honey in as pure as it comes. Our honey is being made locally in our very own backyard. We have the phrase pure honey,  pure hearts, because the honey process is being overseen by 4 year old entrepreneur Ajay. Purchasing honey from us is supporting a young mans first business venture. We would like to see more young black entrepreneurs in our area and are excited to be an example of that in our community.
